1st Team v Derbyshire - Cavendish GC - Sunday 7th June REPORT

As we arrived at Cavendish Golf Club with the wind ripping through at 30-35 mph I thought "it's going to be a very long day up an down the hills at Cavendish."

After the morning foursomes, good wins for Farrell/Norman, Lane/Hill and Vigurs/Godfrey put us 3 v 2 at lunch.

So, into the singles. It looked like a 8 v 7 or 7 v 8 match all day long, or so I thought! As I got to the 6th green I asked Will Painter (County President) how it was looking, and he said "mmm, tight." However, by the time I arrived at the 13th green Worcestershire were up in most matches. News then came back that Oliver Farrell had won, Ben Robinson had halved, and Steve Lane had lost. With wins for Henry James, myself, Adam Norman, Chris Heely, Matt Vigurs and Tom Godfrey, the final score was 10 1/2 v 4 1/2 to Worcestershire.

A great team performance!

A big thank you to Will Painter for making the long trip to Cavendish Golf Club.
