2nd Team v Gloucestershire Cleobury GC Sunday 12th April 15 Pre-season Friendly

The morning foursome matches got underway on a very windy and miserable day at Cleobury Mortimer GC.
The morning matches didn't get us off to a great start, leaving Worcestershire 5-0 down at lunch. A captains brief to the lads during lunch was much needed to lift team spirit.

The teams were evenly matched for the afternoon singles with Gloucestershire edging it by 1 point. It was a disappointing result on the day but I know my team gave 100%, and that's all I was asking for. The first league match is 4 weeks away so there is plenty of time to practice; making sure all our games are in top form ready to place Worcestershire top of the league table.

I would like to comment on Duncan Macpherson from Worcester G&CC who made his Worcestershire "debut", after an 18 year gap since his last County appearance. He, and his partner Josh Bryan, lost narrowly 1 down in the morning foursomes, and Duncan went on to beat Harrison Ottley-Wood 1 up in the afternoon singles. Well done Duncan.

Many thanks to Cleobury Mortimer GC for hosting the day. The course was very good & catering was brilliant.
