Boys County Championships Round 1 Rules

Players must be U18 on 1st January 2021. The handicap index limit for U18 & U16 is 18.4, and U14 is 28.4, but entries will be restricted to the 50 lowest exact handicap indices, with a ballot on ties if necessary.
The competition shall be played in accordance with Worcestershire County Golf's General Terms of Competitions - see County Website.
The Mansell Cup will be awarded to the player with the Best 36 Hole Gross Score. The player with the Best 36 Hole Nett Score for the Championship will be awarded the Rigbey Cup. The player with the best 36 hole gross score U16 will be the U16 Champion and be awarded The Brian Peplow Trophy. The player with the best 18 hole gross score U14 will be the U14 Champion and be awarded The Jim Gray Trophy. There are other Gross and Nett Prizes. Apart from the U18 & U16 & U14 Champion which can be won by one person, a player can only win one prize.
Clubs with three or more players entering will automatically compete for the County Junior Champion Team. The winning Club will be the Team with the lowest three Nett 36 hole Aggregate scores. The Club will be invited to represent Worcestershire in the England Golf Junior Champion Club Tournament - details TBC.
Under the direction of the Championship Committee, the U18 Champion will be invited to represent Worcestershire in the England Golf Junior Champion of Champions Tournament at Woodhall Spa GC on Saturday 11th September 2021.
Under the direction of the Championship Committee, the U18 Champion, U16 Champion & U14 Champion will be invited to represent Worcestershire in the Midland Golf Union Junior Champion of Champions Tournament at Peterborough Milton GC on Sunday 19th September 2021.
The 16 players with the best 36 hole gross scores will qualify to play in the Worcestershire Boys' Matchplay Championships to be held at Kings Norton GC on Tuesday & Wednesday 24th & 25th August 2021.
In the event of a tie for the Mansell Cup or Brian Peplow Trophy there will be an immediate play-off over holes nominated by the Championship Committee. In the event of a further tie, play will continue over the same holes on a sudden death basis. For all other prizes (including the Jim Gray Trophy) the competitor with the better or best score over the last 9, 6, 3 or final hole will be declared the winner.
