County Six Team Report and results from Trentham
EGU Midland Qualifier ( The County Six) at Trentham Park on Saturday 22nd June 2013
Blustery conditions made it a tough day for scoring at Trentham Park Golf Club and our County Six Team found it hard to come back after being 20 shots behind the leaders following round one. They eventually finished in 7th place on 924 ( +60). The winners this year were Leicestershire and Rutland who scored 890 (+26). Staffordshire were 2nd on 895 (+31) and Lincolnshire 3rd, with 907 (+43)

Chris Nugent ( pictured left) hitting out of the severe rough, produced the lowest score from our team with a 73 gross in the afternoon. Richard Sadler ( centre) hits a great drive on the 17th but it wasn't quite enough to keep the bogeys off the card. Matt Vigurs ( pictured right) playing in his second County Six, produced a very creditable 77 and 75 gross (152). Well done to Steven Lane, 76 and 77, who damaged his forearm on the second hole of the day and only managed to complete the day using painkillers. (A player withdrawing after the start eliminates the team)
Thank you to our team this year for representing the County - They were:
Richard Sadler, Matt Vigurs, Chris Nugent, Henry James, Steven Lane and Josh Carpenter
County Captain - Tony Hill
