Oliver Farrell shoots -7 to lead his college to victory in USA event

Oliver Farrell, the current Worcestershire Amateur Champion is in his second year at college in USA, and has continued his impressive form from last year.

He led his Marquette College team to a win in the important Charleston Shootout event held at Kiawah Island's Osprey Point GC on Saturday 11th February. Oliver posted a 7 under par total for the 36 hole event, which included a career-low 66 (6 under par) in the final round to claim the individual title, and ensure a 4 stroke victory for "The Golden Eagles."

With scores of 71 + 66 = 137, Oliver won by 6 strokes, and was the only player to finish under par. Even before this impressive scoring, Oliver's stroke average for the season was 71.8.

Oliver had a couple of weeks back in England over Christmas and was happy to take time out from his busy schedule to spend a day with some of the County's best U18 and U16 players, playing a few holes and also undertaking a question and answer session. No doubt that the lads will be following his progress in USA for the rest of the year!
