Seniors v Derbyshire 9.7.15

On a glorious day at Kedleston Park, one of Derbyshire's finest courses, the Senior Team drew 9-9 against Derbyshire in the Midland Seniors League

Neither team could have asked for a better day with a light wind and sunshine
for the most of the time. My thanks go to the Kedleston Park GC for presenting
the course and their facilities to such a high standard.
The match was at all times played in a great spirit with most matches finishing
1up, 1down or halved. The morning greensomes finished three each after Derby’s
Derek Guthrie holed an outrageous chip on the 18th to win the final match.
The afternoon 4bbb’s also finished all square. Congratulations go to Bill Thompson,
Steve Carpenter,Bryan Swain, Les Stallard, John Swann and Pete Craddock who
remained unbeaten for the day. A warm welcome was given to Ian Smith who
played his first game for the County and I am sure he will be a valuable asset in future
matches.
