It was a very hot day for all players to cope with, but the Worcestershire Seniors team played amazingly well against a strong side from Lincolnshire.
The course at Halesowen was presented beautifully, with some tricky pin positions to deal with.
The team played exceptionally well in the morning greensomes, to gain 5 wins out of 6 games.
To have the Halesowen Club Captain David Macklin and Pesident Trevor Norman join us at the dinner was an honour.
A big thank you to all the staff at Halesowen GC who looked after us all so well throughout the day – especially Alison, the bar manageress, and JJ, the head chef.
Personally, it was a very proud day for me standing in for our County Senior Captain Pete Adams, as captain for the day, and a great honour to play in such a supportive team - many thanks to all of them.
I really enjoyed the day as Vice-Captain, playing against the Lincolnshire Captain, Dave Keen and his partner Steve. Special thanks to my playing partner and Past President of the County, Will Painter.
The overall result was a win for Worcestershire Seniors 13 v 5.
