Worcestershire County Seniors arrived at a very wet Ruddington Grange Golf Course in Nottinghamshire on Friday 27th April!
Waterproofs on, umbrellas up and we were ready to play the usual format. However, after the captains meeting, it was decided that we would only play 18 holes, better ball, due to the April showers which were obviously staying for the day.
An amazing third win for the team - 8 v 4. Bill Thompson and Steve Green secured the first game with a 2&1 win. Next up, Mark Carpenter and Will Painter also secured a 2&1 win. In the 3rd match Gary Bristow and Paul Newman had a close win 1up. Playing 4th, Gary Cull and Phil White secured a great win 4&2. 5th and 6th matches saw very tight games, with the Worcestershire pairs just losing out. Well done to all of the players.

A big thanks to Nottinghamshire for their excellent hospitality and a great match, which everyone enjoyed. Thank you also goes to Ruddington Grange GC for hosting this friendly match. The course, even under difficult conditions, was in great shape. Thanks goes to all of the staff for hosting this match.
Our next match sees us getting down to more serious business, as it is our very first league match of the season, against Derbyshire on 3rd July at Hagley Golf Club, which we are all looking forward to.
In the meantime I am looking forward to seeing everyone at St Pierre GC.
