U18 Squad / Coaching Day at Blackwell GC - Sunday 15th January 2017

U18 Squad / Coaching Day at Blackwell GC - Sunday 15th January 2017

Despite the constant drizzle, the U18 lads enjoyed a 'pressure stableford' competition in the company of Adam Norman ( County Captain), Steve Bird ( 2nd Team Capt) and James Robinson ( Ist Team Player and 2016 Worcs Match Play Champion).

The was a good chance for the Captains to see our talented youngsters in action and they were suitably impressed. Playing alongside them, they could see us how well they coped with different situations, made their shot decisions and managed themselves as the pressure increased throughout the twelve holes.

It was Nathan Slater (Pictured opposite) who took first place with an excellent under par score, scoring 26 points whilst Jake Kelly was a close second with 25 points. In difficult conditions, all the lads showed great resilience and their attitudes showed just how much they valued the opportunity to perform under the watchful eyes of the County Captains.

Thank you to Blackwell Golf Club for providing the County Juniors with this opportunity. The course was in excellent condition and, because of the weather, the lads had the place to themselves! Thank you too, to Roger Martin, for his highly valued and continued support for the County Junior teams.

Although it was cold and wet, the golf was good and the lads were smiling
