(Ollie Gough & Josh Bryan working together well)

So it was the second league match of the season and Kidderminster Golf Club was the venue. The team started the day by gathering for breakfast and discussing course management and tactics for the day. We were guided well by our Captain Josh Thorpe who is a member at Kidderminster. The lads were very positive heading out with useful notes in their course planners.

The team had a great start to the foursomes with Josh Bryan and Ollie Gough putting an early point on the board with a fantastic 7 & 5 win. News spread through the team and inspired fine performances to help Worcestershire into a 3 – 2 lead at lunch.

As the rain started to fall we got the singles matches underway. The standard of golf was outstanding at times with Giles Blakely and his opponent halving the first hole with eagle twos! This was the beginning of a great match that finished on eighteen with most of the team spectating. Josh McMahon continued his fine form that saw him finish 4th in the County Championship earlier this week with a 7 & 5 victory.

Overall this was a good, committed team performance and the lads are keen to continue their form into the match with Derbyshire in August. Well done guys.

Finally I’d like to thank Kidderminster Golf Club for their hospitality and support throughout the day and I look forward to returning soon.
