Worcestershire Boys OOM 2018 - SEASON REVIEW
2018 OOM Winner, James Humphries from Redditch GC
Moseley GC hosted the 16th, and final, Worcestershire OOM Junior Open of 2018 on Sunday 23rd September. With the first event having been held at Churchill & Blakedown GC on Saturday 12th May, it had been a long season for all the boys, with many of them playing in 10 or more of the individual opens.
In total over 65 boys gained points by finishing in the top 10 (boys) in at least one of the club junior opens - an encouraging sign for the future of golf within Worcestershire. The County would like to thank each of the clubs that ran a Junior Open in 2018, which they allowed to be part of the Boys OOM. In particular we would like to thank the hard working individuals at each club that put in many hours of work to run the events, and run their club junior sections.
Unfortunately there were only prizes for the top 3 in the OOM, but several players accumulated over 400 points, and should be congratulated on their performances: Harry Meads (Blackwell) came 6th with 400 points, Josh Griffiths (Gaudet Luce) came 5th with 430 points, and Elliot Jones (Gaudet Luce) just missed out on the prizes with 455 points for 3rd place.
Jack Belli (Stourbridge) put up a sterling defence of the title he won last year, coming 3rd with 470 points, and Mark Hewlett (Gaudet Luce) had an extremely steady season, coming 2nd on 730 points.

However, the overall winner for 2018 was James Humphries from Redditch GC, who scored points in 9 of the 16 events, including 100 points at Moseley, to finish the campaign with an incredible 950 points.
