Churchill & Blakedown GC welcomed 24 boys from across Worcestershire for the Worcestershire Boys U14 Championship. Many of the boys had never played at Churchill and Blakedown before and were not sure what to expect. They were presented with a course in fantastic condition and about to pose them all a stern test. The boys were split into 3 seperate competitions; the main competition for those with CONGU handicaps (18 holes), a competition for those with club handicaps (9 holes), and a competition for those still working towards a handicap (9 holes).
The boys playing 9 holes were sent out after those playing 18 holes, and were the first to finish. There was some very consistent scoring over the 9 holes, and all players deserved recognition for their efforts. However, the Club Handicap Competition was won by Jack Murphy (Rose Hill) and the Non Handicap Competition was won by Milan Skrbic (Churchill & Blakedown).
