It was an early start as we left Worcestershire for Burton on Trent. The complete Worcestershire Boys side gathered and were having breakfast before a single Derbyshire player arrived. I couldn't help but feel like this was a home match.
Our Captain Josh McMahon had recently played the course so the players gathered round to make notes from his advice on their course planners. The players didn't rush as they warmed up and were ready to go from the first shot. It took only four holes for Worcestershire to claim their first point. Unfortunately one of the Derbyshire players suffered a back injury and had to retire. Moments later I watched a ball bounce and roll across a bridge, I couldn't help but think this was going to be a good day. The remaining pairs all played well and Derbyshire could only gather half a point from the last match in the morning session.

Tim Shephard Ollie Gough
The afternoon singles started well and I believe that Worcestershire were up in all but one match through the turn. The lads really meant business and didn't ease off as they turned some of the matches into big winning margins. Josh Bryan, Ollie Gough and Tom Howells all finished early with great performances. Liam Phipps looked to be loosing his match but a gritty fight back claimed another half point.
This was by far the finest team display since I have been involved and I'm told it's the biggest winning margin in over seven years. Well done lads, fantastic effort. Lets finish the league in style next week against staffordshire.
