About The WUGC

The Union was formed on the 17th November 1905 at the Star Hotel, Worcester and is the fourth oldest County Union in England.

Grenville Rose, our President, welcomes you to this wonderful golfing County, which has 33 clubs. They are a diverse mixture of private, corporate and public courses. This website features all our clubs and their details so that you can easily make contact, whether you are a complete beginner, visitor or established player.

Development Squad win their first match

The County Development Squad played their first ever match and recorded a fine 2 1/2 to 1 1/2 win against the KNGC Seniors at Kings Norton G.C. on 21st April 2017. Displaying such positive attitudes and boundless enthusiasm the boys thoroughly enjoyed their first outing as County representatives.

Seniors lose heavily to Leicestershire

The County Seniors lost 14.5 to 3.5 to Leicestershire at Kirby Muxloe on 19th April. The final score belies the fact that almost every match went to the 17th or 18th green.

U18 Boys win against Derbyshire in League

The U18 Boys Team recorded a fine 10-5 win against Derbyshire Boys in their first League match of the season (Sunday 23rd April -Shirland GC). Leading 3-2 in the foursomes they built upon this solid start by winning the singles 7-3.  The match report and scoresheet will follow shortly.

Entry for all 2017 County Competitions Now Open

On line or paper entry forms are now available for all 2017 County Competitions via the Competitions page. Coming up in May:

Monday 8th May - Senior Foursomes at Stourbridge GC

Tuesday 9th May - Club Handicap Tournament at Kings Norton GC

Sunday 14th May - Boulton Salver at Redditch GC

Nathan Slater finishes 32nd in McEvoy Trophy

Worcestershire's Nathan Slater (Bewdley Pines GC) battled hard throughout the final day to finish a very creditable 32nd in this star studded field.  Despite many birdie chances, the putts wouldn't drop but he kept his composure and was a credit to the County.  Well done Nathan on a fine overall performance.

Droitwich Shield & Kidderminster Cup Finals


The Droitwich Shield Final will be between Moseley A and Hagley G&CC, teeing off at 10.00am.

The Kidderminster Cup Final will be between Droitwich A and Gaudet Luce, teeing off at 10.30am.
