About The WUGC

The Union was formed on the 17th November 1905 at the Star Hotel, Worcester and is the fourth oldest County Union in England.

Grenville Rose, our President, welcomes you to this wonderful golfing County, which has 33 clubs. They are a diverse mixture of private, corporate and public courses. This website features all our clubs and their details so that you can easily make contact, whether you are a complete beginner, visitor or established player.

U14 Boys County Championship at Churchill & Blakedown GC - Monday 13th August 2018

Sam Rowbottom (Kings Norton GC) winner of the U14 Boys County Championship, with Jim Gray (WUGC Vice President) and the Jim Gray Trophy.

Seniors win again against Northants at Overstone Park 13.8.18

The County Seniors continued their excellent season with a good win, 12 1/2  v 5 1/2 against a strong Northants team at Overstone Park, Northampton, on the 13.8.18.

U16's overcome Warwickshire 8-7 at Kidderminster 10.8.18

A superb team performance secured an excellent  8-7 win against Warwickshire in the Midland League. It was great to see that Hugh Adams made it back in time from his National triumph to join his teammates in this important fixture.

Magnificent Hugh - The new National U14 Champion

Hugh Adams (Hagley), has won the English Boys U14 Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship (The Reid Trophy) at Reading GC (7th -9th August) in a tense four hole play off, after rounds of 72,71 & 67.

This is an international event, with players coming from all over the world to compete.

This is one of the best achievements by any Worcestershire player for many years.

Seniors come 7th in EG Midland Qualifier at Kedleston Park GC - 9.8.18

Seniors at Kedleston Park GC on 9th August 2018

County Boys Teams play S&H, Staffs & Kings Norton GC Seniors all on Monday 6th August 2018

On an very busy day for the County Boys Teams, the U16 Team beat Shropshire & Herefordshire 9 - 6, but lost to Staffordshire 6 1/2 - 8 1/2, in the tri-match at Lilleshall Hall GC. The U14 Development Squad beat the Kings Norton GC Seniors 2 1/2 - 1 1/2 at Kings Norton.

Seniors make it three in a row at Shifnal - 24.7.18

Gary Bristow holes superbly from 4ft on the 17th to close out their crucial match with partner, Craig Pates. Another excellent team performance produced an 11-7 away victory at Shifnal GC over S&H, giving the Seniors their third straight league win.

1st Team defeats Derbyshire at Stourbridge

1st Team stalwart Tony Hill hits a fine approach to the 13th as the team wins 10.5 to 4.5 against Derbyshire in the Midland League. 

The 2nd Team lost narrowly, 8-7, at Erewash Valley.

Worcestershire Boys Order of Merit 2018

Hollywood GC , whose Junior Open, which is part of the Worcestershire Boys OOM, is being held on Wednesday 15th August. 

Other August events are Stourbridge on 21st, Blackwell on 24th, Redditch on 29th & Fulford Heath on 31st.
