About The WUGC

The Union was formed on the 17th November 1905 at the Star Hotel, Worcester and is the fourth oldest County Union in England.

Grenville Rose, our President, welcomes you to this wonderful golfing County, which has 33 clubs. They are a diverse mixture of private, corporate and public courses. This website features all our clubs and their details so that you can easily make contact, whether you are a complete beginner, visitor or established player.

Steve Green wins the best gross at MGU Senior Autumn Meeting - 18.9.18

Steve Green (Rose Hill) is seen collecting the Glen McBride trophy from Brian Morris, for winning the best gross in the Midland Golf Union Senior Autumn meeting at Chase GC.

Worcestershire Boys Order of Merit 2018 as at 17.9.18

After a long season, and with 15 events played since 12th May, Moseley GC will host the final event of this year's OOM on Sunday 23rd September. Prizes will be presented to the top 3 boys.

Entries Now Open for the Winter Inter-Club Knockout Competitions - Droitwich Shield, Kidderminster Cup and R&A Salver - 14.9.18

Entries are now open for the County Inter-Club Winter Knockout Competitions. Please click the appropriate link for the entry form.

The Droitwich Shield - a team consists of 3 foursomes pairs, playing gross matchplay over 18 holes. (One or two teams per club).

The Kidderminster Cup - a team consists of 3 foursomes pairs aged 55 or over, playing gross matchplay over 18 holes. (One or two teams per club).

The R&A Salver - a team consists of 2 players (handicap range 19-28 on date of entry), playing handicap matchplay over 18 holes. (One or two pairs per club).

Seniors remain unbeaten for the whole season - 10.9.18

An excellent 11.5 to 6.5 win in their final match against Cambridgeshire at Worcs G&CC (10.9.18) saw the County Seniors Team go through the whole season unbeaten - a truly remarkable achievement.

Last hole pitch wins U14's match for Staffs - 9.9.18

Showing perfect balance and power, 8 yr old Hayden Sarfo on his debut for the U14's, was part of a gripping battle right to the last hole. A perfect pitch from one of the Staffs boys won this match and gave them an overall 3-2 victory. It was a great effort from all our lads and The Lickey Hills GC proved to be a very popular venue.

Dan's determination produces best score of the day - 1.9.18

Dan Wakeman's excellent 55 gross (one over par) helped pull the Worcs U14's up into a 4th place finish at Broughton Heath GC in the MGU County 6.

Seniors dig deep to become West Midlands League Champions - 30.8.18

The County Seniors drew 9-9 at Worcester G&CC against Staffs to clinch the league title for the first time. Overall, a great season and achievement by our Seniors.
