About The WUGC

The Union was formed on the 17th November 1905 at the Star Hotel, Worcester and is the fourth oldest County Union in England.

Grenville Rose, our President, welcomes you to this wonderful golfing County, which has 33 clubs. They are a diverse mixture of private, corporate and public courses. This website features all our clubs and their details so that you can easily make contact, whether you are a complete beginner, visitor or established player.

Both 1st and 2nd Team suffer defeat against Nottinghamshire -3rd June 2018

The County 1st team lost 6 1/2 v 8 1/2 at Moseley GC, and the 2nd team lost 6 v 9 away at Hollinwell on Sunday 3rd June. Both teams are already preparing for their next matches against Shropshire & Herefordshire on Sunday 1st July.

Mark Dunkley - 2018 Amateur Champion

Congratulations to Mark Dunkley, (Moseley GC) who, after a three hole play-off, won the 2018 Worcestershire Amateur Championship.  He's pictured opposite playing a magnificent second shot to the 18th green at Moseley GC against Oliver Farrell, winning the title by one shot.

Worcester G&CC win the Tomson-James Trophy for best Club A Team, and Moseley GC win the Jubilee Shield for best Club B Team. 


County helps local charity for Disabled Children

Keith James (left), Trustee/Chairman of Golf for Disabled Children receives a cheque from Graham Yardley, WUGC Vice President. The money will be used to fund golf lessons for local disabled children, run by Gareth Snelgrove and his team at Hagley Golf Club.

8 year old Hayden Sarfo maintains early lead in Worcestershire Boys OOM

Hayden, aged 8, is still leading the Worcestershire Boys OOM after a win at Churchill & Blakedown GC and a 2nd place in the Gaudet Luce event. Hayden is part of the County U14 Boys squad.

Hayden is closely followed by Mark Hewlett (Gaudet Luce), Elliot Jones (Gaudet Luce), Thomas Thornton (Kings Norton) and Josh Griffiths (Gaudet Luce).
