Online Entry for Worcestershire County Championships 2024

Tuesday 4th June 2024

Format: Individual 36 holes scratch strokeplay event.

Entry is limited to players with a handicap index of 6.4 or less, but entries will be restricted to the 50 lowest EXACT HANDICAP INDEX players on the last date for entries, with a ballot on ties if necessary.

On the day of competition course handicaps will be limited to the maximum HI limit for entry. Where there is a ballot, the HI at the time of the ballot will be used.

Only amateur male members of Golf Clubs affiliated to Worcestershire County Golf Ltd can enter.

The Centenary Putter to be awarded to the competitor with the best aggregate gross score over 36 holes.

The competitor with the best aggregate 36-hole nett score will be awarded the Philip Padmore Trophy.

The competitor aged U21 as at 1st January 2034, with the best aggregate 36 hole gross score will be awarded the Youth Trophy.

The G. D. Carr Cup, which qualifies as a 54-hole World Ranking event, will be awarded to the competitor who records the best gross 54 hole aggregate score, to include his score from the County Championship Team event.

The leading 8 competitors will qualify to play in the Worcestershire Matchplay Championship; the semi-final and final to be held at Blackwell GC on 28 July 2024

Under the direction of the Championship Committee, the winner of the The Centenary Putter will represent Worcestershire in the England Golf County Champion of Champions Tournament at Woodhall Spa GC on 15 September 2024.

In the event of a tie for the Centenary Putter, there will be a play off, under the same conditions that governed the original competition, over selected holes on the same day. If scores are still tied, then by sudden death.

In the event of a tie for the G.D. Carr Cup, the Philip Padmore Trophy or the Youths’ Championship, then the competitor with the better or best score on countback will be declared the winner.

One courtesy practice round will be available to all competitors subject to prior agreement with Blackwell GC. Players MUST telephone the General Manager to confirm details in advance. Subject to availability.

The competition shall be played in accordance with Worcestershire County Golf's ‘General Terms of Competitions’ - see County website.
Entry for this competition is balloted to 50 entries. Online entry does not guarantee a place in the final competition.
This competition requires that fees be paid to complete entry. If the payment process is not completed, your entry may be removed.
