Online Entry for Worcestershire & Worcestershire & Herefordshire Junior Championships 2024

Players must be U18 on 1st January 2023.
Handicap limits:
Boys.
U18’s & U16’s 18.4 and below.
U14’s 28.4 and below.
9 hole competition 28.5 and above
Entry for the U18 & U16 competitions will be restricted to the 50 lowest exact handicap indices.
Girls:
36 holes 20.4 and below
18 holes 20.5 and above
9 holes 36.5 and above and those pre handicap.

Boys Trophies:
The Mansell Cup will be awarded to the player with the Best 36 Hole Gross Score and will be the Worcestershire County Champion. The player with the Best 36 Hole Nett Score will be awarded the Rigbey Cup. The U16 player with the best 36 hole gross score will be the U16 Champion and will be awarded The Brian Peplow Trophy. The U14 player with the best 18 hole gross score will be the U14 Champion and be awarded The Jim Gray Trophy. There are other Gross and Nett Prizes. A boy can win only one individual prize with the following exceptions. A boy can win more than one championship and their trophies and prizes. A boy who wins one or more championships can also win a nett competition trophy but would not receive an additional prize voucher. Prize vouchers will be awarded based on the highest value prize. with prizes not awarded being given to the next placed players.
The lowest gross and net scores in round 1 (boys and girls) will qualify for the Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship.
Clubs with three or more players entering will automatically compete for the County Junior Champion Team. A team of 3 players will be entered from the 3 lowest HI’s (on day of competition). The winning Club will be the Team with the lowest three Nett 36-hole Aggregate scores. The winning Club will be invited to represent Worcestershire in the England Golf Junior Champion Club Tournament on 13-15 August 2024 at Woodhall Spa.
Under the direction of the Championship Committee, the U18 Champion will be invited to represent Worcestershire in the England Golf Junior Champion of Champions Tournament at Woodhall Spa GC on 14 September 2024.
Under the direction of the Championship Committee, the U18 Champion, U16 Champion & U14 Champion will be invited to represent Worcestershire in the Midland Golf Union Junior Champion of Champions Tournament at Stourbridge Golf Club on 29 September 2024.
The 16 players with the best 36 hole gross scores will qualify to play in the Worcestershire Boys' Matchplay Championships to be held at Bransford GC on 24 & 25 Jul 24.
In the event of a tie for the Mansell Cup or Brian Peplow Trophy there will be an immediate play-off over holes nominated by the Championship Committee. In the event of a further tie, play will continue over the same holes on a sudden death basis. For all other prizes (including the Jim Gray Trophy) the competitor with the better or best gross score over the last 9, 6, 3 or final hole will be declared the winner.

Girl’s trophies:
The girl with the lowest gross score over 36 holes will be the Worcestershire & Herefordshire County Champion and awarded the Best Gross Trophy. The girl the best nett score over 36 holes will be awarded the Best Nett Trophy.
The Stableford Silver Trophy will be awarded to the girl with the lowest Stableford score over 18 holes.
The 9 hole handicap trophy will be awarded to the girl with the lowest nett score.
A girl can win 2 trophies but will be awarded only 1 prize, with prizes not awarded being given to the next placed players.
Any ties will be decided on count back.

Payment is required at time of entry. Where payment is not received entries will be automatically removed.

The competition shall be played in accordance with Worcestershire County Golf's ‘General Terms of Competitions’ – see County Website.

Entrants must complete a consent form before 27 May 24. Forms will not be required from Juniors who are members of WCGL teams and have already completed consent forms. A form link will be set to entrants as required.
