This was our 1st friendly of the season against Gloucestershire at the Vale.

It was a very cold day with sunshine and showers a typical April day!

The course tee to green was in good condition,however due to recent greens maintenance (which all clubs have to do this time of year )it made putting a bit of a lottery.

The morning greensomes was very close containing 3 halved matches, but Gloucestershire eventually leading 3.5 to 2.5.

The afternoon 4 ball matches was totally the opposite and we dominated,winning 3 matches and halving 2 to eventually win the match 10.5 to 7.5.

I would like to thank my team for playing,particularly Rod Armstrong,Paul Walters and Andy Longley who were unbeaten on their debut.

I would also like to thank The Vale Golf Club for giving up their course for the day and for their hospitality.
