Tom Wakeman wins the Midland Boys Closed Amateur 20.9.20

Many congratulations to TOM WAKEMAN (Hagley G&CC), who defeated Sebastian Cave (Olton GC) on the second playoff hole in the Midland Boys Closed Amateur Championship. After 36 holes they'd both tied with rounds of 71 and 68 (-3) at Wollaton Park GC. This is a superb achievement by Tom and clearly indicates how well his game has progressed over the last few years in the junior ranks. The other Worcestershire juniors competing in this prestigious MGU event, one of the few this year, did extremely well. Harrison Leaver (Worcs G&CC) finished 7th, James Ilsley (Stourbridge GC) was 9th ( Tied 2nd in the John Preston Memorial Trophy), Louie Stott (Bewdley Pines GC) was 22nd and Philipp Krone (Kings Norton GC) was 39th out of the 60 competitors. Well done to all our Worcestershire juniors in this exceptional year.
