Denis Hayes made Honorary Life Member at first Company AGM
Denis Hayes (Stourbridge GC) is made an Honorary Life Member
At a well attended first AGM of WCG Ltd a number of important decisions were made, some of which, recognised the tremendous achievements of the Executive Officers of the Worcestershire Union of Golf Clubs.
The Chairman, Bill Thompson, opened the meeting by thanking the outgoing President, Mr David McGillivray, for his excellent work in carrying out the role throughout 2019, sadly curtailed by the pandemic in 2020. All those attending warmly endorsed the Chairman's comments.
Unanimous approval was given to endorse the Board’s nomination that all Vice-Presidents of the former Worcestershire Union of Golf Clubs as at 31st December 2020, namely Mr David Rodway, Mr Chris Gupwell, Mr Graham Yardley, Mr Dave McDermott, Mr Jim Gray and Mr Tony Edwards, be made Honorary Vice -Presidents.
Unanimous approval was given to endorse the Board’s nomination that Mr Denis Hayes, be made an Honorary Life Member in recognition of his services to the game of golf. Mr Ian Rone, Company President, provided a thorough resume of Mr Hayes' golfing achievements, which clearly demonstrated why this award is so richly deserved.
