The boys began their defense of their league title with a home match against Derbyshire at Churchill and Blakedown G.C. on a gloomy, wet Sunday morning. However, it was not a gloomy start for the morning foresome pairings with Worcestershire establishing a 3.5 - 1.5 lead with wins from the pairings of Mark Hewlett & Tom Blizzard (5&3), George Stephens & Hayden Sarfo (2&1) and a convincing win for Harry Evans & Teddy Fee (7&5).
Going into the afternoon singles matches we needed a further 4.5 points to secure victory. There was no complacency within the team following the morning advantage and positive determined performances for the entire team was enough to complete a comfortable win with 8 wins from the 10 singles matches with every player contributing to the team score during the day. Well done everyone. A great team effort.
Final Score: Worcestershire 12 pts - Derbyshire 3 pts

A special thank you to club members Chris Howles who performed the role of starter for the day and to Jeremy Price, the club captain, for his kind positive words in his address following the meal. Once again thanks to Mark Hewlett, Kevin Fee and Ian Griffiths for their valued support and to all the parents.
