Passing of Denis Hayes

It is with sadness that we report the death of our Honorary Member, Denis Hayes.

Denis had a long association with golf within Worcestershire. He was a member of Stourbridge Golf Club for over 80 years, a County player, a County Chairman and President, and a long-standing member of the Executive Committee.

His involvement in and dedication to golf extended beyond county level. He was a member of the R&A, which included Chairmanship of the Rules, Implement & Ball and General Committees, as well as co-Chair of the World Golf Council.

In recognition of his lifetime of dedication to the game of golf, Denis was made an Honorary Member of Worcestershire County Golf in 2021.

We offer our condolences to his family, and our thoughts are with them and his many friends at this sad time.

We will advise of any arrangements for a service once known.
